STAGING FAQ’S…

WHAT IS HOME STAGING?

Home staging is the term now widely used to describe the action of getting a home ready for sale by ensuring the presentation is the best it can be. Stagers work with the flow of a home, eliminate clutter, edit out and rearrange furniture and help highlight the positives to appeal to a larger range of potential buyers.
Professional home staging can be viewed as an investment for the home seller in that it will cost less than a home’s first price reduction. In today’s real estate market, you need to give your home a marketing edge over other homes for sale by staging with Chatham Home Stagers.

Why should I use Chatham Home Stagers?

We are certified professional stagers who strive to bring a home’s best features forward and maximize your home’s profit potential.  We are passionate about pleasing our clients and will use our talent and skill to make sure you are happy with the results.

The real estate market is soft, why would I need to stage my home?

The softer the market, the more you need to make your home stand out among the competition.  Staging is an investment not an expense.  It can increase your profit by increasing your home’s value and by decreasing the time the home is on the market thus saving you money in mortgage, taxes and utilities.

The real estate market is strong, why would I need to stage my home?

Even in a hot market, home staging can help you to sell your home. Receiving multiple bids on your home could possibly bring you more money than your asking price.  Statistics show that professionally staged homes sell for 17% higher than unstaged homes.

Why can’t buyers look past the decor and envision themselves living there?

Only 10% of buyers can visualize the potential of a home.  Most can not look past a cluttered or unappealing room.  While most buyers start out looking for a house based on logical criteria, for example, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths etc., they end up purchasing based upon an emotional connection they feel when they are in the home.

Won’t my realtor stage my home?

Realtors have good insight as to how you could prepare your home for sale.  However, their priority and time should be spent marketing your home and attracting the largest audience to view your home.  In contrast, a CHS consultant can give your home the undivided attention and concentrated focus on details for the best presentation of your home.

My home has been on the market for 3 months so isn’t it too late to stage my home?

On the contrary, it is never too late to stage your home.  Before you reduce your selling price, you need to stage your home and “re-present” it to potential buyers.  Staging a home will never cost as much as your first price reduction and therefore it is always worth it.
